In the third quarter of 2024, the African market showcased notable trends in the performance of top shooter games on the Android platform. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for these popular games.

Free Fire, published by Garena International I, saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $22.8K in mid-August, before tapering to around $15.7K by the end of September. The game maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads reaching a high of 390.9K in early August. However, there was a gradual decline in downloads towards the end of the quarter, with numbers falling to 210.8K. Active users started at over 5.1M at the beginning of July, but experienced a significant drop, ending the quarter at 4M.

PUBG MOBILE from Level Infinite experienced fluctuations in its weekly revenue, starting at $31.7K and closing at $30.4K. Downloads varied significantly, peaking at 232.4K in early September, while active users showed a downward trend from over 3.2M in mid-July to approximately 2.7M by the end of September.

West Gunfighter by Candy Mobile had minimal revenue throughout the quarter, with sporadic weeks showing negligible earnings. Downloads were inconsistent, hitting a peak of 144.7K in early July, but dropping sharply to 10.7K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 456K and decreasing to 207.6K.

Free Fire MAX, also from Garena International I, showed a steady revenue increase, culminating at $8.7K in mid-August. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at 178.3K in early September, while active users grew from 1.7M to nearly 2M by early September, before settling at 1.8M at the quarter's end.

Lastly, FRAG Pro Shooter by Oh BiBi saw its revenue rise to $1.1K in late September. Downloads were highest in late July at 161.4K, declining to 49.9K by the quarter's conclusion. Active users mirrored this trend, beginning at 664K in late July and decreasing to 394K by the end of September.
